Cirencester Band

Cirencester Band was founded in 1919, born out of the 'Comrades of the Great War' support organisation following the 1914-1918 Great War.

Rehearsals began at the Temperance Hall in Thomas Street on Monday and Thursday evenings with many of the instruments 'borrowed' from the regiments the men had served with.

For nearly a century since, the band has been entertaining audiences in and around Cirencester. The band led the parade from Cricklade Street to the Abbey Grounds at the start of Cirencester's celebrations for The Queen's diamond Jubilee on June 4, 2012.

Cirencester Band actually consists of two bands -  the main band which gives a number of performances each year, and a training band for beginners of all ages, including adult returners.
