Katie Fforde is one of the UK's best-loved authors. She has now sold over 4.5 million books (across all formats) here.

Katie, who lives near Stroud, started out back in 1995, when her first book, Living Dangerously, was a WH Smith ‘Fresh Talent’ pick. Since writing this in 1994, she will have written 28 books in 28 years!
Katie’s warmth and generosity towards other writers is well-known. She is a chairperson for the RNA and loves to champion up-and-coming authors, especially in the romance genre.
She has also recently participated in the QuickReads scheme (2021), as a big believer in promoting literacy.
Katie is a true country girl at heart. Each of her books explores a different profession or background and her research has helped her bring these to life. To get into the mind of her characters, she’s been a porter in an auction house, tried her hand at pottery, refurbished furniture, delved behind the scenes of a dating website, and she's even been on a Ray Mears survival course.
She loves being a writer; to her there isn’t a more satisfying and pleasing thing to do. She particularly enjoys writing love stories. She believes falling in love is the best thing in the world, and she wants all her characters to experience it, and her readers to share their stories.
Katie has had four #1 bestsellers – A Rose Petal Summer, A Summer at Sea, A Vintage Wedding, and A Recipe for Love – as well as many more top 10 bestsellers.
Her new book, A Wedding in Provence, is set in late summer, 1963.
Fresh from London and a recent cookery course, Alexandra has always loved a challenge. Which is why she now finds herself standing outside an imposing chateau in Provence.
Waiting for her inside are three silent, rather hostile children who are to be her charges for the next month.
They will soon be more friendly, she tells herself. All they need is some fun, good food and an English education.
Far more of a challenge, though, is their father – an impossibly good-looking French count, with whom she is rapidly falling in love…
Published by Century in hardback and on e-book, A Wedding in Provence costs £14.99.
