Shipton under Wychwood Cricket Club

Shipton under Wychwood Cricket Club runs three teams on Saturdays and also a friendly side on Sundays.

Tuesdays in the summer is our club night where there is nets, coaching, fielding practice and the bar is usually open.

Shipton compete in the Oxford Times Cherwell League. The 1st XI are in Division 1, and the 2nd XI in Division 5 with the 3rd XI in Division 9. We also compete in the nPower Village Cup, and midweek knockout competitions. The First XI won the National Village Knockout at Lords in both 2002 and 2003.

The club also hosts annual cricket events including an Inter-club Twenty20 Day, club tour to Sheffield and regular events such as quiz and curry nights.

There is a fantastic youth set-up at Shipton, and we have a family social night every Friday during the summer where the kids (ages 10-16) get some coaching and kwik-cricket games whilst the parents can enjoy the barbeque and bar.

We also host Youth Coaching nights Monday (U13s), Wednesday (U15s) and Thursday (U17s). We have both boys and girls teams and have had a number of these young players break into the County and District setups.

We are always on the look-out for new players, umpires, scorers and members, of all standards. So if you would like to join the club, please visit our website and navigate your way to the Contact Us page, and get in touch!
