The Cotswolds is an area renowned the world over for its chocolate box selection of picturesque towns and villages.

Three cities - Gloucester, Bath and Oxford - provide a kind of triangle around the fringes of the Cotswold Hills, so we've also included them in our potted guides to 'Cotswolds Centres'.

But it's the glorious array of Cotswold towns and larger villages that are the main focus of this mini guide to the Cotswolds.

You can choose to click on the 'potted guide' buttons to find out a little about the history and culture of each place, or you can click 'find out more' for a round-up various activities and businesses that can be found in each area.
