Cotswolds Trivia - Schools & Education

The Fire Service College, just outside Moreton-in-Marsh, is the country's largest training centre for firefighters.
Before the site became a training centre in the 1960s, RAF Moreton-in-Marsh was operational throughout the Second World War as part of Bomber Command. It was the home station of 21 Operational Training Unit, which was responsible for the training of air crew flying Wellington Bombers.

Northleach Primary School is one of the few Gloucestershire primary schools with its own heated outdoor swimming pool. The pool is open to the public for a small charge over the summer holidays.

Readathon, the national charity which encourages children to read for pleasure through its sponsored reading challenge, is based in the Cotswold town of Nailsworth.
As well as encouraging young readers, Readathon also provides free books for participating schools and raises funds to help seriously ill children throughout the UK.
