Ciren Samba aims to bring the community together through samba drumming. Learn a mixture of traditional Brazilian rhythms as well as Western rhythms like funk and hip-hop on authentic instruments, under expert tuition.  All are warmly welcome to join in any rehearsal. There is no need to read sheet music and no experience is necessary. We're a very friendly bunch and normally go for a little social drink afterwards too. Cirencester Band was founded in 1919, born out of the 'Comrades of the Great War' support organisation following the 1914-1918 Great War. Rehearsals began at the Temperance Hall in Thomas Street on Monday and Thursday evenings with many of the instruments 'borrowed' from the regiments the men had served with. For nearly a century since, the band has been entertaining audiences in and around Cirencester. Cirencester Parish Hand Bell Ringers were formed in 1990, after the bells had been refurbished the year before. The group has performed in a wide variety of venues, including churches, local clubs, care and nursing homes, shopping malls and even a private house. As members of Hand Bell Ringers of Great Britain, South West Region, the group has attended many rallies and concerts across the region and in 2009 performed at the national rally at the Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester. A friendly, versatile orchestra based in Cirencester, we usually perform two concerts each year in the Cotswold area from a varied repertoire. We rehearse for about eight weeks prior to each concert on Sunday afternoons at 2.30pm at Watermoor Church Hall, Cirencester GL7 1NE. Our conductor is Ian Higginson, who is currently musical director for the University of Gloucestershire. We are a friendly and enthusiastic brass band based in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire. We are a community band, playing at a wide range of venues from summer parades to regional competitions. The main band is available for year-round bookings. We can also provide a reduced band or a five-piece band to suit smaller functions. The main band practises every Monday evening from 7.15pm in our bandroom in the centre of Nailsworth. We also have a thriving training band which continues to supply us with talented new musicians and a…

This group was established in Cirencester in 1999 by Sandra Dukes, to create an opportunity for classical guitarists to develop their musical skills and perform as an ensemble. The Ensemble today comprises a junior, intermediate and senior section who also combine into a unique Guitar Orchestra, the only one of its kind in Gloucestershire.  The junior group are mostly of primary school age and playing together does much to build their confidence both as group and solo players. UkeStroud is a friendly group of people who live in or near the Stroud Valleys who like to have fun playing ukulele. The group meets on the first and third Thursdays of the month (and the fifth Thursday if there is one) at Pitchcombe Village Hall at 8pm for two hours of music. The cost is £2 including tea or coffee and biscuits. UkeStroud started as a spin-off from the UkeGlos group in Cheltenham. It has players of all ages and abilities and newcomers are always made…
