260 oak trees planted in Gloucestershire to mark Queen's Jubilee

Children from Swell C of E Primary School donned their wellies to plant two English oak trees to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, as she’s set to pass 70 years of service this weekend.
The two oaks are part of a wider initiative which has seen 130 villages across the county successfully bid for a pair of commemorative oaks, generously gifted by The Honourable Company of Gloucestershire.

Funding boost for Chipping Campden School

Today (Wednesday, July 21) the project to build a Performing Arts Centre (PAC) at Chipping Campden School (CCS) receives a huge boost of £125,000 funding from property developer Duchy Homes.
The PAC, a £3.8 million project, is due for completion by the end of the year and will open to the public in Spring 2022.

Swell C of E Primary School gained headlines across the UK, India, France, Brazil and Portugal after launching its Swell Christmas Raffle in November, but is now appealing to the local community to buy tickets before the draw on 16th December.
The raffle, which offers a signed Fender guitar from Coldplay as its coveted prize, has sold 6,000 tickets to date, but the school is hoping to sell all 20,000 tickets on offer to really kick start its fundraising campaign to raise money to build an extension and replacement toilet block, originally added to the small village school in the 1960s.

At the Queens Hotel in Cheltenham, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. The 1st December saw the launch of the Christmas advent projections on the hotel’s Georgian façade, running from 4.30pm to 10.30pm each evening.

Bourton-on-the-Water Primary Academy has welcomed pupils into their new classrooms following the completion of a major programme to expand and improve facilities at the school.
The academy, which is situated in the picturesque Cotswold village, has now moved into its new Early Years and Reception classrooms in the final step of the £1.8m, three-phase construction programme, expanding the school so it can admit 45 children per year.

A crucial phase of the development of the Performing Arts Centre in Chipping Campden has been completed this week, with the final section of the steel frame now finished.

Something truly wonderful happened during lockdown for the pupils at Paternoster School in Cirencester: work on a fantastic new inclusive playground was completed in time for the new school year.
The project was driven by the Friends of Paternoster School, a dynamic group of parents who worked tirelessly to raise the funding from local businesses, Cotswold District Council, and national and local charitable organisations.

Bourton-on-the-Water Primary Academy has made the most of county council funding for much-needed expansion work at the school in the Cotswolds.
The new school facilities mean more space for learning and modern cooking, serving and dining areas for children. The school can return one of the rooms being used as a dining area back into a classroom thanks to a hall extension with a new kitchen and servery.

World champion welcomed back to former school

Students at Chipping Campden School warmly welcomed back former pupil and world champion rower Matt Gotrel on Wednesday (May 11) when he came to speak about life as a professional athlete.
The former international sailor is already a double world champion, having won back-to-back gold medals in the men’s eight in 2014 and 2015.

A two-storey extension will provide two high quality laboratory spaces and a teaching training room to complement that of the existing science department. In addition, refurbishment of existing internal space will provide an additional demonstration laboratory.
