Stroud Choral Society

Founded in 1834, Stroud Choral Society is one of the oldest choral societies in the UK.

With a rich history, this friendly group has approximately 130 members rehearsing in Marling School Music Hall in Stroud on Monday evenings from 7.30pm-9.30pm.

The society aims to give two major concerts a year with a professional orchestra, as well as a summer concert and a Christmas concert.

Huw Williams is the musical director and conductor. His wealth of musical experience, combined with his sense of humour, energy and an apparently unlimited source of knowledge, ensures lively rehearsals.

New members are always welcome, no audition is required and you are welcome to come along and try before joining. Various social activities are held throughout the year as well as regular excursions to the local pub after rehearsals!

For further information, call the society's vice-chairman Molly Stewart on 01453 889596, email info@stroudchoral.org or visit the society's website www.stroudchoral.org

The society's president is the renowned mezzo-soprano and local resident Sarah Connolly CBE.
